BECOMING AN OUTDOORS WOMAN WORKSHOP
BOW workshop will be May 18-19-20, 2001 at the
NRA-Whittington Center IN RATON
RATON, N.M. - When women go hunting and fishing these days they're not stuck around the dutch oven any more. They're fly-fishing and hunting with rifles, muzzleloaders and bows.
Women who want to learn these skills, and many more, are invited to attend the Becoming an Outdoors Woman workshop.
Other classes include Basic Wilderness Emergency Medicine, Lions and Bears of New Mexico, Basic Backpacking, Survival Skills, Handgun Shooting Basics and Unarmed Self-defense for the Outdoors Woman. Participants also may learn about Talking to the Animals, Basic Map and Compass, Big Game Identification, Fly Tying and Nature Photography.
The classes are taught in half-day sessions and participants are limited to four classes over the weekend. Some scholarships are available, but they are distributed to participants who demonstrate the greatest need.
Becoming an Outdoors Woman is sponsored by the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish, Federal Cartridge Company and the NRA Whittington Center. For more information contact:
And by the way, a class in Dutch Oven Cooking is offered, too.
